Revamped Website

The Mepham High School Library's Website recently received a much-needed face lift. Using our Weebly Pro subscription, we updated the content of our pages to reflect the changes to our program. You can still find all the information you need to locate books and access our numerous databases. We hope you like this new look.

NEW Website: Mepham English Department

The Wellington C. Mepham High School English Department created a new website with all things English-related. This is the place to go for news & updates, writing contests, English faculty websites, and information on the English electives. It showcases some of the fun stuff that the English department has done this past year. For example, "Mr. Achtziger introduced children's author Carin Levis to eager elementary school students through Senior Experience's Book Buddies program. Ms. Cooney's Broadcasting I students attended a taping of "The Chew" last fall. The trip is one of many "field" experiences for BMB students." This Wednesday, December 9th periods 1-9, your tech mentors (Ms. Desmond, Ms. Stack and Ms. Tschan) will be upstairs in the library's MacLab ready to teach you how to use Weebly Pro. These 40-minute workshops are for all skills levels, from beginner to advanced. If you do not have a website yet, we will help you set one up. If you already have one, we can show you how to use the advanced features, such as HD video, how to create a calendar and so much more. Each session will be custom-designed to meet the needs of those in attendance. Join us and bring your breakfast, lunch or snack along too.

I was recently introduced to a unique Website called, Mysteries of Vernacular. It is one of the most visual stunning videos I have ever seen. Created by Myriapod Productions, this site "contains 26 etymological installments, one for each letter of the alphabet. Each episode takes more than 80 hours (!) to create between the research, construction of the book and the animation." New Website

New Library Website

The library Website recently had a makeover. Don't worry, your beloved resources have made safe passage onto our new Site. The layout has changed, so instead of finding links on the left-hand side, they now appear in the top toolbar. Make sure to click on the last one titled "more" for video tutorials, public library information, student, parent, and teacher resources. This site was created using Weebly, which was named one of TIME's 50 Best Websites in 2007. Stay tuned for a new district and school Website as well powered by SyntaxWin.com.

What an Amazing Year!

What an amazing year we have had in the Mepham High School Library! It started way back in September with the Freshman Orientation Pirate Scavenger Hunt. Then it continued with our first Scholastic Book Fair in November. We raised more than $960 for our school and over 150 books were donated to non-profit children's charities. The library hosted its first Craft Day in December, just in time to make some homemade gifts for the holidays. We launched our new and improved website at the beginning of 2007 and it is being updated all the time. Author Patrick Jones stopped by in April to discuss his book Things Change and much, much more is being planned. Check back often!
